Dawn Southworth creates mixed media works using a wide range of materials and processes. She incorporates painting, drawing, embroidering, cutting and burning, among others. Her three–dimensional work features found objects, such as bottles and shoes. Using a variety of materials for surfaces, she has an extraordinary ability to fuse together tough wood and glass alongside delicate paper and fabric. Dawn Southworth earned her MA and BFA from Massachusetts College of Art. Her work is widely collected and has received acclaim in The Boston Globe and Art New England. She is a recipient of Massachusetts Cultural Council Grants, Blanche E. Colman Awards and a NEFA/NEA Fellowship.
