Artist Bio
Wendy Jean Hyde is a Boston – based interdisciplinary project artist and a recipient of the prestigious SMFA 2008 Traveling Scholar Fellowship and her work was featured in SMFA Traveling Scholars Exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in the spring of 2010. Clark Gallery is honored to introduce artists working in New Technologies. Ms. Hyde's video installation of New and Unforgotten / Tundra was featured in our April exhibition entitled FLOAT.
The artist is currently working on PORTRAIT SURFACE PROJECT. Ms. Hyde solicited commissions to paint a specific number of individual portraits while accomplishing this task through a full lunar cycle. Painting commenced on November 25th and ended on December 24th, 2011. During each session, only a specific feature was painted. For example, one day only 29 lips were painted. The next day - only 29 foreheads etc. The artist is currently in post-production.....
