Large folio, 13” x 10”, 120pp.  Deep blue buckram cloth covered boards in excellent condition. Excellent gilt stamped titles and lettering and publisher's emblem in gilt on cover and spine. Protected with mylar jacket. The spine is very tight, solid and square; the interior pages are near mint and pristine; very bright and clean with no markings of any kind; the ffep has a small minor crease at bottom corner; the tipped in frontispiece, a portrait of Blossfeldt is perfect; the page block has a deep blue topstain; one page introduction in German, with two pages listing names of flora and fauna depicted in the 120 plates.

WUNDER IN DER NATUR, as other books by Blossfeldt, are renowned for their photographic plates. This volume contains 120 exquisite gravure plates and are printed recto only (one side) adding elegance and grace to the folio and completely faithful to his unique vision. Karl Blossfeldt’s “pictorial documents” represent many of the most important photographs of the Twentieth Century. Blossfeldt ushered in the genre of New Objectivity, and his stature and influence with photography’s history is immense and unparalleled. This volume of WUNDER IN DER NATUR is in excellent condition. Blossfeldt’s remarkable trilogy of early works is included in Roth’s 101. This famous, WUNDER IN DER NATUR (Magic Nature), is a milestone in Twentieth Century photography, and is very rare in this beautiful condition.
