Throughout October, Clark Gallery is honored to feature eloquent and arresting paintings by Shelley Reed and Richard Ross' photographs of both spiritual and enlightening spaces. Hanging through October 30th, the companion solo shows will be celebrated with an opening Saturday, October 3rd from 4-6pm. Richard Ross will sign copies of his monograph, The Architecture of Authority, during the reception.
Ms. Reed has been widely exhibited in museums throughout the country, including the MFA, Boston, DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, and Loyola University Museum of Art in Chicago. She received the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2006 and was awarded the Maud Morgan Prize from the MFA, Boston in 2005. A resident of the Boston area, Ms. Reed works with Sears Peyton Gallery in New York. This is her first solo show in Boston in four years.
Mr. Ross is the author of several books including: The Architecture of Authority, Gathering Light, Museology, and Waiting for the End of the World. He has been the recipient of a prestigious John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, a Fulbright Scholar Award, and many other grants and fellowships. An important American photographer, his photographs are represented in numerous public and private collections including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and his work has been the subject of exhibitions in venues throughout the world.
