Artist Bio Artist Work

Megan Cronin is known for creating sculpture based on natural plant forms such as pine cones, mushrooms, and seed pods. Using traditional materials, such as bronze and copper, Cronin also works with more decorative materials such as ostrich eggshells and peacock feathers. Intrigued by imagery from nature placed within man made settings, she writes: "A tension exists when these organic forms and their growth patterns are controlled by geometric structures, as it also does when an architectural space is invaded by the instinctive patterning of growing matter." Megan Cronin received her BFA in Metals at Massachusetts College of Art and attended Parson"s School of Art and Design. Her work has also been featured at Green Street Gallery and Fuller Craft Art Museum.
