Adam Normandin
Artist Bio Artist Work
Adam Normandin is a contemporary realist painter based in Los Angeles. His oil & acrylic paintings often depict the urban expanse or the vastness of American Deserts. With a focus on the passing of time, each painting is rendered with a powerful sense of place and an unsurpassed attention to detail.
Originally from New York, Normandin moved to Los Angeles in 1987 after graduating from Hofstra University. His paintings are exhibited widely and held in many prominent collections around the world.
Artist Statement
Mostly, my work is subtle storytelling, with underlying themes of identity, loneliness, and the fleeting nature of human connection. I rarely seek details for particular paintings. Instead, I prefer discovery without any preconceived notions. Mostly, I am drawn to subjects that emote a strong sense of being and reveals evidence of use and time.
In an otherwise disconnected world, my paintings are about the complexity we experience in finding meaning, purpose and understanding.
