Andrea Collesano

Artist Bio Artist Work

Born in Pontedera in November 1980, Andrea Collesano graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence artistic diploma in 2004. During this time, he wrote his thesis analysing the metamorphic and mythological figures in Bocklin painting, with a focus on zoomorphism. Since then, he has spent several years in Forte dei Marmi, a small town bordering the Tyrrhean Sea. His main inspiration comes from his close proximity to the sea and its inhabitants. His subjects range from small miniatures of insects to large works devoted to whales and other creatures of the abyss. With his black in drawings, Andrea Collesano gives his artworks a taste of ancient times and a feeling of melancholic serenity.
