In the period 1958-1960 Magnum photographer Leonard Freed (1929-2006) photographs immigrants from Indonesia in the Netherlands. These Indonesian Dutch and Moluccans are among the last large wave that commences the boat trip to the Netherlands as a result of the decolonization of the Dutch East Indies. Leonard Freed follows them from the moment they arrive in Amsterdam by boat. He looked for them in the temporary camps, with Dutch families, on the street, at work and at school.
