Linda Huey
Artist Bio Artist Work
Linda Huey creates functional and fine art ceramic sculpture based on botanical forms. As of late, the discussion of culture versus Earth has become a recurring theme. Her new body of work, Uncertain Harvest, specifically explores this tension: flower petals open to expose cityscape buds and stalks of blooming vegetation are made of rebar. Huey invites the viewer to consider his or her own views of environmental changes while offering expertly crafted three-dimensional ceramic sculpture. A graduate of the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Huey splits her time between Boston, MA and Alfred, NY. She participates in nationwide fine art craft fairs and teaches. Uncertain Harvest is her seventh solo show at Clark Gallery; the show will be reviewed in an upcoming issue of American Ceramics.
